Seductive and enticing, a dream stole the breath from betwixt my lips
Giving no thought to the destruction it would leave behind for daybreak
With whispers and caresses, my careless heart was surreptitiously taken
During my free soul's fanciful journey amongst the billowing clouds above
Once roused from a dream, reality crashes upon my foggy mind

Somebody's Star
This life can be rough; Yes, it's trueHard times come to both me and youJust breathe deeply and learn your lessonsThe good times will be cherished blessings You can try to run and hideBut you can't escape what's insideYou are you wherever you goAccept yourself and you will grow Loving yourself can be so hard to learnSociety's criticisms can really burnBut you are wonderful; You really areAnd in this life, you are somebody's star

Blessed Serenity
Through the pitch darkness
And clouds of confusion
A benevolent hand
Reached forth toward me
I received this hand
Warily with mine
And followed to discover
Where it would lead
I began to detect
A faint incandescence
A multitude of
Sweet beckoning voices
Lovingly encompassed me
As the light became brilliant
Never did the hand discard me
Once into the blazing light
With the gloominess
An indistinct recollection
Then is when I saw that
The accommodating hand
Which had led me away
From anguish was yours
The voices I'd heard
Were amazingly those of
My beloved ones
Summoning me back
From the pit of
Ominous nothingness
I had worn as a shroud
Never before had I felt
Such blessed serenity
I realized where I belonged
I finally knew who I was
I left all self-doubts
And suspicions behind
In the torment
And dark despair
That had become my life
For almost an entire year
I was myself once more

Final Sleep
Twists and turns
The hands of Fate
Plot your course
And set your dates
Just watch and see
How it comes in part
To skew your mind
Or break your heart
Plan for the worst
And hope for the best
Eat right and exercise
Get plenty of rest
Squirrel money away
In a box or a bank
You'll need it for emergencies
Then yourself you will thank
Do all you can
To make things right
Care for all people
Not just those in sight
Be the person you want
Others to become
When you close your eyes
Your work will be done
For the Final Sleep, friends
Comes to us all
You had best have lived right
When to account you are called

Innermost Thoughts
What is honest in your secret heart?
What is true in your innermost thoughts?
How many locked doors are there deep inside of you?
Would anyone tell me, if anyone knew?
Tell me your secrets, whisper me your dreams.
Show me your plans and elaborate schemes.
The past is gone, for that was another day.
The present is here, but how long will it stay?
The future is tomorrow, yet so far away.
In your life, I want to be a part of it all:
From winter to spring, through summer and fall.
Can't you share yourself with me?
Openly, honestly, true, and free?

My Eternal Lover
The first tentative kiss
The softest touching of lips
Your sweet tongue tempting mine
Kisses deepen into passion
Your hands cradle my face
Then one pulls me closer
Fingers grasping at my nape
Demanding intimacy
You pull me down
To lie upon the furs
Hands exploring my breasts
Followed by your mouth
My nipples harden and rise
Fingers trail to my secrets
Heightening my desire
Moaning, helpless
Whimpering with lust
Your body slides against mine
Capturing my mouth with yours
Urging me toward ecstasy
Your hands slide up my arms
Pinning my wrists above my head
Eyes searching my soul as we join
Heaven
Slowly at first
Teasing
Lifting me higher
Then waiting
Undulating again
To raise my desire
Now I'm on fire
Rougher now
Losing control
Souls dancing through swollen lips
Freedom
My hands are released
To travel your glistening back
Pulling you closer
Tongues lick sensitive necks
Teeth grip shoulders
Groans in my hair
Fierce intensity in your eyes
I beg for release
As you thrust deeper
Our souls embrace and soar
Climax locks us in each other's arms
I scream your name
You moan mine
My eternal lover

Nomad
Roam, nomad, roam
Far away from home
Or even somewhat near
It is now all so clear
It matters not where you go
Your absence still shows
How we stand apart
Are we close in heart?
I so decidedly think not
Since you have been caught
In your filthy, rotten deceit
When you deviously creep
Do you think me naïve?
Believing the web you weave?
You should know I have learned
For I have certainly been burned
By that thing called 'Love'
Supposedly from Above
Just never you fear
Darling nomad, dear
I learned a long time ago
Actions can more clearly show
What your words may try to hide
Yet is just so clear in my mind
We were never meant to be
This is the truth that I see
So stop trying to hide
Just say "Goodbye"

Time for Goodbyes
I don't know how to say goodbye.
I don't know how to stand, to seem, to look.
I want to hold your hand and drown in your eyes.
But now is not for dreaming; it's time for goodbyes.
I want to run my hands through your hair and feel your lips upon mine.
But this is not the place, nor is it the time
For loving and wanting; it's time for goodbyes.
I feel so empty inside at the thought of leaving you behind.
I always thought that you and I were two of a kind.
Now is when to show our differences, cut our ties, and separate our minds.
This is not the time for being as One or 'Happily Ever After'.
It's time for goodbyes.

Joy
A most remarkable thing
Happened today
When I opened my eyes
To the morning light
I awoke to find
You lying by my side
You can't imagine
The joy that filled
My soul and heart
Now my entire day
Will be wonderful
Judging by its start
I love you

My Eyes
Look into my eyes and what do you see?
Do you see
My patience with you?
How my heart stops when you smile?
The mischief in my mind?
How much I love you?
Look into my eyes, really look…
Can you see
My jealousy when you're with others?
The hurt in my heart when you're gone?
My silent, desperate plea?
Can you really see?
Look into my eyes and consider
Might you see
Why they're so green, then so blue?
That our eye contact shakes me?
That I've needed you for too long?
That I'll always want and need you?
Look into my eyes and what do you see?

My Heart I Bare
The moment I saw you, I wanted you to be mine.
You spoke to me then; that's when I knew it was time.
My turn to be happy, to have fun, and to share.
My chance to be with someone who would truly care.
Your sparkling eyes speak volumes to me.
Your dazzling smile makes me weak in my knees.
You cause trembling in me that's uncontrollable and untamed.
I have shivers of pleasure whenever I hear your name.
Thoughts of you bring a quick smile to my face.
I see you before me when I drift off into space.
You're the man in my dreams each and every night.
You're the only one I long to have hold me tight.
You make me feel comfortable, special, and warm,
As if I'm protected, and safe from all harm.
Your gentle soul draws me as a moth to a flame.
The question that remains: Do you feel the same?
This poem I wrote to show you I care.
In essence, this is my heart I bare.

Three, Two, or One
From one to another to another and back again
How to decide?
The sweetness of one
The lust of another
The spontaneity of the other
Two so near, one so far
Completely different in all their ways
Pros and cons on every side
Confusion in my mind
Confusion in my mind
Each situation is too good sometimes
Wonderful lovers, yes, and good friends
My heart, mind, and soul belong to all
Though not entirely to any one
I'm happy with each alone
But I can't cut the others free of me
What to do?
Where to turn?
Once were all in the same company
Having two together, Heavens!
But to have all three?
My gaze wandering over each
And back again
Knowing that only I
Could lay claim to each and every one
Now I can't relinquish any one
I wish I could keep all three
But they won't let me have my fun
Tell me:
Should I choose Three, Two, or One?

Make Me Hate
Please don't make me hate you.
Don't take what has been beautiful and turn it ugly.
Don't tell me you've never cared.
Or never stared when you thought I wasn't looking.
Don't make me wish that our union never happened.
Please don't think that I never saw
That look in your eyes after our loving.
Or that I missed the tenderness
In your smiles for me.
Please don't try to tell me that it was all pretend.
Don't make me hate you
When I love you so much, my friend

Fantasizing
You speak of amour
You behave as if to leave
You say a few minutes
You're more like hours
You always guarantee
You relentlessly deceive
You fall short of caring
What endeavor do I perceive?
What exhibits your ardor for me?
I observe merely disdain, and contempt,
Only hatred, and abandonment
I detect no concern, and no compassion,
There's no chance for love in that
You answer that I've 'turned into a real bitch'
I contemplate what has wrought this change in me
Could it possibly be despair, or loneliness?
I used to be so cheerful and carefree
I really trusted that you cherished me
Now I realize that I was merely fantasizing
Dreaming a peasant man into a prince
What suffering for wishful thinking!

Just who
Misty memories whirl in my head
Of past chances and old dreams
Dancing in a rhythmic crowd
Standing on the sidelines alone
Tears in so many false smiles
Visions in distorted mirrors
Promises in the bottom of a glass
Finding Love in the wafting smoke
Images wildly spinning along
Through each other's path
As faces swim in and out of focus
Events re-occur with vivid clarity
As I quietly sit and ponder the past
Tender touches thankfully remembered
Brutal force sobbingly relived yet again
Intense longing to truly be known
Deep-seated fear in real recognition
Just who am I anyway

Love
What Is Love
Is It This Coldness
This Emptiness
This Numbness
I'm Experiencing
Is Love Leaving
Your Self-Respect Behind
Is It Turning
The Other Cheek
When You're Slapped
Is Love
The complete disregard
For Your Own personal
Needs and Wants
Is It The
Slow Death of
Everything You've
Ever Been
And were ever
Meant to Be
Love

My Romantic Mind
Can you detect our light shining as a beacon for all to see?
I perceive it in my mind's eye as closer to you than to me,
It was between us, a powerful symbol of our loyalty.
Remember what you said when you showed it to me?
If I needed you to make something right,
I should look heavenly to our soft guiding light
And I should merely cry aloud thrice your name.
You'd hear my call, and my problems you'd tame.
I believed you'd hear and come straight to my side.
Was it all true, or a figment of my romantic mind?

People Face
Why do I feel that I must be perfect?
Happy and outgoing in public,
Not a care in the world.
Never let anyone see my inner turmoil.
Put on my 'People Face' for the party.
Pretty and poised,
Hiding myself away
And masking my emotions.
Smiles, no tears,
Happy, no fears.
Publicly perfect,
Perfectly private.

Scourge of the World
She gazed at the light dispassionately,
As if it had never meant the world to her.
She thought about the years past,
Forever since she had held him in her arms.
She wondered what had been so wonderful about him
That she'd felt that she couldn't live without his love.
He had been unknown to her,
Just another puzzle in the mystery of life.
She later learned that mysteries
Aren't always meant to be solved.
His enigma, once discovered,
Was not a joy to behold.
It was a terror to run from in fear.
What love of hers could be
Such a maniacal devil?
This one was a detriment to
All who had contact with him.
He was the scourge of the world,
The vomit of society.
Well-spoken as the mood befit him,
Charming as the inkling to be so.
He chose his way, and received
His just desserts in the long run.
Some people, you just can't break;
They only bend.
That she would in turn break him,
Was the very end!

Stepping Stones
What do I see when I ponder the yesteryears of my life?
A bridge of mistakes through which lessons were learned,
Crossing a river of tears that led to nowhere.
Stepping stones of accomplishments both great and small.
Dreams unrealized.
A slow building of personal strength and endurance,
During the birth of the greatest love imaginable.
Moments of manic joys and severe depressions,
Decades with unexplainable terrors.
Momentary pleasures of the body and soul,
Events that were just beyond my own control.
Times of soulful confusion and insanity,
Consequences for which are still coming.
An increasing respect for myself.
